Horseshoe Creek Outfitters is a family run outfit for the last 26 years by the Jackson family recently purchased by the Miles family in 2019, both permanent residents in the Peace River area. Ray Jackson is still a vital member of the Horseshoe team managing and guiding clients as he has built so many great relationships with many people. We have acquired a great team of mangers, guides, wranglers, cooks, and helping hands behind the phones/communications that we could not make this operation happen without. It takes a team and we hope you enjoy ours.
We hope your priorities for a hunting excursion match ours and you can come see what hunting in our ‘Neck of the Woods’ is like. We wish you good luck and good hunting and may the harvest be the bonus.
Ray & Sharon Jackson have lived in the Peace River area for many years. Moving here in 1990 from the states and have been outfitting in the area since 1991. When Horseshoe Creek was purchased by the Miles family in 2019, Ray stayed on as a vital part of the operations managing and guiding as well as attending hunting shows during winter months. They reside in part of the hunting area. Ray has been guiding since 1978. Working in the hunting business was something that he had dreamed of as a child. Guiding clients has been a very satisfying vocation and lifestyle. Ray's son Ben continues to wrangle, guide, farrier service and works with the Horseshoe Creek Outfitters Ltd.
Raised in the Peace River area on his family farm, Frank's lifelong passion for this lifestyle began with hunting, trapping and fishing all over the region since a young kid. Guiding was always a dream, but opportunities in the oilfield industry let to a different path. In 2019, a new venture emerged, leading to the establishment of what is now multiple hunting areas for this family-run business. With a passion for the outdoors, the next generation has embraced the lifestyle, as Frank's son John guide's hunts and has enquired his pilots licence to assist with the more remote areas. His lifelong friend Conor Baker is also one of our longterm guide's who has years of guiding experience in the Yukon/NWT. Conor is a dedicated part of the Horseshoe Creek team, as along side guiding he also shares partnership in a part of the hunting area. Holly, Franks daughter enjoys coming up when able to sneak away from home-life with her two little ones to lend a hand with cooking and other camp duties. The hope is for future generations to continue with the operation/business.
